Obituary for Eleanor Minor

Eleanor Reeves Minor, 101, of Prosperity, PA, went to be with the Lord at 3:25 PM Thursday, March 01, 2018, in the Mapleshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Morgantown, WV.
She was born Monday, October 30, 1916 in Moscow, ID A daughter of the late David S. Reeves and Bertha E. Schumacher Reeves. Her early life was out west and has been a resident of Greene County since 1946.
Mrs. Minor was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waynesburg but attended the Ruff Creek Bethlehem Baptist Church where she had served as the choir director for several years.
She attended the Los Angeles Jr. College and Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky. Mrs. Minor was a member of the Mother's Study Club, Garden Club and the Greene County Horseman's Association. She was one of the first volunteers when the gift shop first opened at the former Greene County Memorial Hospital in Waynesburg.
She was a soloist for the church, many organizations, weddings, and funerals. Mrs. Minor traveled for 1 year with the church group giving Biblical Dramas in churches all across the United States. Mrs. Minor was also one of the soloist in the Handels Messiah given at Christmas by all the church choirs in Greene County. Before her marriage she worked at the Hensheys Department Store in Santa Monica, CA. At one time she was on the election board for Washington Twp. She had also worked as an instructional aide in the reading program at Central Greene School District.
Her Husband: William C. Minor, whom she married on April 21, 1946 died May 12, 1992.
Surviving are 1 Son: Dr. William R. Minor, and his wife Denise of Prosperity, PA., 3 Granddaughters: Autumn Lemley and her husband Cliff, Lauren Schaefer and her husband Kameron, and Lindsey Courtney and her husband Colter, 1 Great Granddaughter: Amelia Lemley and 1 Great Grandson: Otis Courtney, 1 Sister In Law: Judith Reeves of Long Beach, CA., and several Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews, and Great Great Nieces and Nephews.
Deceased are 1 Sister: Maxine Vann, and 6 Brothers:
Floyd Reeves, Harold Reeves, Charles Reeves, Robert Reeves,
Edwin Reeves, and David Reeves
There will be a greeting of friends and family from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM the time of the Memorial Service on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the First Church of the Nazarene 115 Deerfield Lane Waynesburg with Rev. David Earnest and Rev. John Poling officiating. Burial will be private at the Greene County Memorial Park. Milliken and Throckmorton FH, Inc. Daryl L. Throckmorton Owner/Director,197 N. Maiden St Waynesburg, PA 15370 are charge of arrangements. The family ask that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the Bethlehem Baptist Church 685 Washington Road Prosperity, PA. 15329.
